He understands the time and effort required to take a horse to a clinic, through his mobile clinic he comes to your horse.

My practice is oriented towards wellness and I enjoy a personal relationship with my clients and their animals.
I believe that being an advocate for the animal, while respecting my clients’ goals and desires, results in a unique and enjoyable client/patient relationship. I strongly feel that my clients help me in my pursuit to provide excellent patient care, and I welcome your suggestions on how I can better serve your needs.

Biography
Dr. Canning is a native of New Mexico, where his family ranches and raises Thoroughbred race horses. He enjoys raising Quarter Horses for racing, and is compassionate about his participation in team roping as a heeler. Dr. Canning graduated from Texas A&M University in 1977, and has been active in large animal medicine ever since. He practiced in the field of embryo transfer prior to relocating his practice to Colorado. Dr. Canning’s professional affiliations include: member of the AVMA, AAEP, and the Society for Theriogenology, a branch of veterinary medicine concerned with veterinary obstetrics and with the diseases and physiology of animal reproductive systems. /p>
Dr Canning serves as a board member of the Snowmass Western Heritage Association, among other activities this group bringings you the Snowmass, Colorado Rodeo each summer.
Dr. Canning values continuing education and personal growth for both himself and his clients. By staying abreast of new technologies and current veterinary trends, Dr. Canning can provide the most up-to-date care for his deserving patients.
